Teri and Mary discover the many benefits of golf at Kirkbymoorside golf club
We enrolled on the “Get into Golf” course at Kirkbymoorside in September 2015 which consisted of five one-hour lessons with a golf professional over a five-week period. We really enjoyed the course and subsequently joined the club as full members, the cost of the course being deducted from the membership fee.
After a very wet Winter in 2015, we really started playing regularly in Spring of 2016 and even took part in events such as Lady Captain’s Day, Lady President’s Day and a competition for married couples with our respective husbands. All of which were really good days and gave us the opportunity to get to know more members of the club.
Throughout this time, we received lots of encouragement and offers of playing partners from the Ladies section at Kirkbymoorside and the section has been very friendly and welcoming to us as new members. The Ladies section have a regular session on a Tuesday morning but there is also a weekend session which is great for women who work or can’t attend for any reason during the week.
Kirkbymoorside is a beautiful golf course, with abundant wildlife and regularly spending a few hours walking around it in the fresh air has really benefited us health-wise.
The clubhouse has a very friendly and relaxed feel to it, the staff are brilliant and the catering is excellent. It is the perfect place for relaxing after a game. There are regular social events throughout the year and we have thoroughly enjoyed all of the evenings we have attended.
